Why the calculated count changes
The same picture becomes a different puzzle when the constraints change.
A smaller count keeps more of the original image visible on every piece. A larger count creates finer fragments and more tray comparisons. Clear subjects provide landmarks; repeated natural textures push the solve toward shade, line direction and exact shape.
